Equal Employment Opportunity Policy

General

This policy outlines Platinum Grover 2023 Inc. (“Platinum Grover”) equal employment opportunity to all

persons regardless of age, color, national origin, citizenship status, physical or mental disability, race,

religion, creed, gender, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity and/or expression, genetic information,

marital status, status with regard to public assistance, or any other characteristic protected by federal,

provincial or municipal law.

Employer Obligations

Platinum Grover implements this policy of employment equity by:

 

(a) identifying and working to eliminate employment barriers against persons that result from

the Platinum Grover’s employment systems, policies and practices that are not authorized

by law; and

 

(b) ensuring positive policies, practices and making reasonable accommodations as well

ensure that persons achieve a degree of representation in each occupational group in the

Platinum Grover’s workforce that reflects their representation in the Canadian workforce,

or those segments of the Canadian workforce that are identifiable by qualification,

eligibility, or geography and from which the employer may reasonably be expected to

draw employees.

 

Employer not required to take certain measures

 

The obligation to implement employment equity does not require Platinum Grover:

 

(a) to implement employment equity where the taking of that measure would cause undue

hardship;

 

(b) to hire or promote persons who do not meet the essential qualifications for the work to be

performed;

 

(c) to create new positions in its workforce

 

(d) to hire workers under 18 years of age unless enrolled in an approved Registered

Apprentice Program (RAP), or with written approval.

Areas of Commitment

Platinum Grover provides a workplace free from harassment or discrimination and believes in providing employment based on an individual’s merit and abilities.

a) Self-identification

Platinum Grover is working diligently to ensure employees understand the importance of self-identification.

Only those employees who identify themselves to an employer, or agree to be

identified by an employer, as Indigenous (First Nation, Metis, Inuit and Non-Status) people,

women, LGBTQIA2S+, members of visible minorities or persons with disabilities are to be

counted as members of those groups or the purposes of implementing employment equity.

b) Confidentiality of Information

Information collected by an employer is confidential and shall be used only for the purpose of

implementing the employer’s obligations under the Act.
